Introduction

Auctioneer Classic was discontinued when the 3.0.2 WotLK patch came out. As a result users must migrate to the Auctioneer Advanced, which is now known only as "Auctioneer", if they want to continue using the product. This guide will show you how you can do the same stuff with Auctioneer Advanced that you used to do with Auctioneer Classic.

There is also a FAQ about the changes for 3.0.2 in the forums: http://forums.norganna.org/discussion/8100/

Scanning Auction House

Where is the scan button?

To Do: Add screenshot which includes GetAll button, and update GetAll text below

The "Scan" button has been replaced with the "Play" button at the top left corner of your "Browse" screen. Now you can also "Pause" and "Stop" the scanning and visit your Mailbox or go do some enchanting and the scan will continue where you paused!

If you're feeling adventurous, type /auc getall in the chat box. This will cause Auctioneer to get the whole auction house at once for you. Note that this is not officially supported yet, as it may cause you to disconnect, particularly if you have a slow or high latency connection.

Posting Auctions

Item values are not filled automatically anymore

To Do: Include Post tab screenshot and info

To Do: Update Appraiser screenshot

The "Auctions" tab is no longer used for posting auctions. You post auctions on the "Appraiser" tab now. You can post items on that tab either by ALT-clicking items from your bags or by selecting from the list on the left. It is suggested that you use the list on the left because once you have added all unwanted items from your bags to the ignore list you will see only items that you can post for auction.

You can see more detailed description about the Appraiser tab on this page: AucAdvanced/Screens/AppraiserTab

Searching Auctions

The search tab is missing

Searching is now done through the Search UI. Right click on the magnifying glass icon at the top of the browse tab, or left-click on the magnifying glass in your SlideBar, or click on the "Search" tab on the AH.

More on SearchUI can be found from AucAdvanced/SearchUIBasics.

Find competition button is missing

You can find competition against your items by going to the Appraiser tab and checking the "Auctions" checkbox. Now you see items you have already put into auction with a bit darker background (as is the Dawnstone in the screenshot). When you click this item you will see all of the auctions in the middle list.

Tooltips

Nothing is displaying in the tooltips

As part of this release, we've reset a bunch of settings, including turning off most of the statistics tooltips by default. If you've scanned using Auctioneer (Advanced) before, go into the AA options and make sure that the stats you want to see have their tooltips enabled. If you've previously used Auctioneer Classic and this is your first time with Auctioneer (Advanced), your Classic data is probably unavailable, you'll have to scan for a few days before the statistics are generated on the tooltips.

Enabling more stats in the tooltips

Open the Auctioneer configuration by clicking the Auctioneer icon from the SlideBar or by clicking the Configure button on the Browse tab. Select a statistic module from the tree on the left and make sure you have the "Show xxx stats in the tooltips?" ticked.
