Auc-Util-FixAH was created to fix two specific bugs introduced by Blizzard which caused some havoc with our AddOns:

  • When using the browse tab to search a multi-page result set, then starting a new search, the default Blizzard tool no longer returns to page 1 for the second search's results. Not only is this problematic for regular AH browsing, but it also caused several statistics generation problems for Auctioneer.
  • An API function we use was (accidentally?) renamed in an undocumented manner, causing our applications to throw error messages during routine use

The Auc-Util-FixAH module was created as a temporary patch to resolve these problems until Blizzard was able to correct them. Unfortunately, several new Blizzard patches have come and gone since then, without fixing these problems, so it appears that these issues are not high on the Blizzard radar for correction.
